Supporting Instruction:• Assist in managing equipment inventory control systems.• Contribute to the organization and archiving of geospatial data and imagery.• Assist with maintaining ESRM facilities, including the greenhouse and samplearchives.• Preparing, cleaning, and organizing lab supplies for weekly ESRM courses.• Assist in seeking vendor sources and building vendor relationships for uniquematerials.2. Safety:• Assist in maintaining a chemical inventory database.• Monitor for regulated substances and help oversee chemical waste disposal.• Contribute to proper storage of chemicals by hazardous class.• Support compliance with federal and state laws and regulations related to safety.3. Maintaining Operations & Equipment:• Assist the Lab Technician and Lab Coordinator with routine cleaning, testing,calibration, and installation of equipment components.• Support the calibration of locally deployed environmental sensors and thearchiving of associated data.• Assist in ensuring that UAV and ROV units are in proper working order andsecurely stored.• Provide support in securing permissions for field activities.4. Supporting Field-Based Efforts:• Assist with fieldwork at various locations, including University Park, Long GradeCreek, Santa Rosa Island, and other nearby sites.• Contribute to public planting days, class activities, and interdisciplinarycollaborations.• Aid in securing permits and clearances for field activities.5. Additional Responsibilities:• Perform other duties as required to support the ESRM program.SUPERVISOR/OTHER WORK RELATIONSHIPS:The student assistant will work closely with the ESRM Lab Technician and LabCoordinator and maintain working relationships with the Program Chair, ESRM faculty,support technicians in the sciences, Information Technology services, facilities staff,Receiving, and the campus Environmental Health and Safety staff.REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:Education: Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in ESRM or a related scientificdiscipline from an accredited university.Experience: Relevant experience is desirable but not required. Employer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 09/22/2025Position Overview: The MVS School of Business & Economics is seeking enthusiastic, professional, and service-driven Student Ambassadors to represent the school at events and support programmatic initiatives that promote the visibility and impact of MVS within and beyond the CSUCI community. This is a leadership opportunity for students who are passionate about business education, public speaking, and making a meaningful contribution to student and community engagement.  Key Responsibilities: Attend and participate in events on behalf of the MVS School of Business & Economics (e.g., orientation, admitted dolphin day, recruitment events, open houses). Represent MVS students at both on- and off-campus events, sharing personal experiences and highlighting the MVS School’s impact on the broader community. Assist with the coordination and operations of the MVS Ambassador Program, including: Recruiting and onboarding new ambassadors. Supporting training initiatives and peer mentorship. Contributing to the development of a succession plan for future cohorts. Meet periodically with the MVS Dean and internal team members to discuss program progress and improvements. Prepare promotional materials, presentations, and documentation for various outreach and engagement efforts. Perform additional administrative and ambassadorial duties as assigned.  Qualifications: Required: Must be a currently enrolled CSUCI student in good academic standing. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Professionalism in both communication and appearance. Availability to attend occasional evening/weekend events. Preferred: Prior experience in student leadership, customer service, or event coordination. Social media content creation or management skills.
