Orientation Leaders (OLs) are essential to this experience.OLs are current CI students who serve as mentors, facilitators, and ambassadors of the university. They guide new Dolphins through orientation programming, foster meaningful connections, and help students navigate campus resources to support a successful college experience.This is a highly visible leadership role that requires professionalism, enthusiasm, teamwork, and a commitment to supporting new student transition.Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Orientation & Engagement Programs Director and Specialist, Orientation Leaders will:Represent CSUCI in a positive and professional mannerFacilitate Dolphin Pod small-group discussions and activitiesLead in-depth campus tours for students and familiesSupport First-Year and Transfer Orientation sessionsGreet, welcome, and check in new students and guestsServe as a knowledgeable resource on academic and student support servicesAssist with event day of logistics and collaborate with faculty, staff, and presentersParticipate fully in all required training sessions and team-building activitiesComplete administrative and operational duties as assignedOrientation Leaders are expected to be role models on and off campus and in digital spaces. QualificationsApplicants must:Be a current CSUCI studentMaintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPABe in good academic and disciplinary standingDemonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skillsBe comfortable speaking in front of groups and facilitating discussionsWork effectively both independently and in a team environmentInvolvement in campus life and familiarity with CI resources is strongly encouraged.A successful background check is required prior to employment. - DASS Student Assistant at CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentEmployer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 04/10/2026Hourly Rate: $16.50 | Estimated Hours per Week: 10-20Working hours will be during office hours: Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm. Purpose of Position:To assist Disability Accommodations and Support Services (DASS) staff, students, and faculty with a variety of routine and non-routine tasks and to provide customer service to DASS constituents. The DASS Student Assistant reports to the Associate Director of Disability Accommodations and Support Services, receives day-to-day oversight and leadership from DASS Analyst, and works closely with all staff within DASS. Responsibilities & Duties:Provide quality customer service and front office support including assisting with inquiries in person, online, and on the telephone. Collection and entry of alternative testing data. Serve as a proctor for alternative testing and assist with delivering exams. Assist with alternative testing correspondence including email and phone call reminders to students and faculty. Assist with scheduling appointments for DASS Counselors and other DASS services such as Alternative Media Appointments and Notetaking Appointments. Assist Notetaking Assistant with Note Taking tasks and serves as a classroom Note Taker when needed. May assist with escorting students to class. Serve as a resource for campus and community. Assist with additional assignments from DASS staff. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Candidates must be a current CSU Channel Islands student, in good academic and behavioral standing as well as have a minimum 2.50 grade point average. Candidates must have the ability to interact with the general public and the ability to form positive working relationships while interacting with diverse student populations, as well as faculty and staff. Candidates must be trustworthy and reliable in the handling of confidential materials as required by law. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must have strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical skills. Candidates should have a strong sense of task management, the ability to perform duties with general supervision, and the ability to exercise discretion in judgment and decision-making. Candidates must have the ability to work independently and with others and be self-motivated to complete assigned tasks. Must be punctual, dependable, and responsible for all assigned tasks. Good working knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required. Knowledge of Campus resources is preferred. Knowledge of ABBYY Fine Reader and Kurzweil 3000 is preferred. Must be able to learn of ADA laws about the protected rights of persons with disabilities and uphold strict regulations regarding confidentiality. Candidates must be able to work on Fridays and possibly weekends. The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
- Student Assistant for Teaching & Learning Innovations (TLi) at CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentEmployer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 04/13/2026TLi Student Assistant Purpose of Position: As part of the Digital Learning / Teaching and Learning Innovations (TLi) team, this student assistant will work primarily in-person from the Faculty Innovation In Teaching (FIT) Studio (Solano 1201) to provide technical in-Studio support. and to advance CSUCI’s digital accessibility efforts through digital content remediation for instructional materials. The position will support sustainable, scalable accessibility capacity by supporting an internal remediation workflow, using CSU/ATI resources (including the CSU ATI Remediation Hub) and AI-assisted remediation with human quality review.Job Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position are divided into FIT Studio Support and Digital Accessibility & Remediation Support for Instructional Materials. This position will also include various other duties as assigned to support TLi operations.FIT Studio Support (approximately 50%)Provide welcoming, professional customer service and technical support to faculty and TLi staff who use the FIT Studio.Manage day-to-day studio operations (opening/closing procedures, scheduling/space readiness, equipment readiness, and basic troubleshooting).Support online classroom needs (e.g., CI Learn/Canvas-related support, classroom digital tools, and collaboration software).Conduct studio guest intake and route questions/issues appropriately to TLi staff or other campus partners when needed.Draft and maintain clear technical guides/how-to documentation to help users learn processes and workflows.Assist with instructional media work as assigned, including audio/video recording support, basic editing/graphic production, and general production assistance.Test instructional materials or digital experiences for user experience and provide feedback to TLi staff.Support basic WordPress updates for TLi-related websites/pages and assist with web/library research tasks as assigned.Consult with participating faculty (as directed by TLi staff) about instructional materials and support needs.Digital Accessibility & Remediation (approximately 50%)Remediate instructional materials so they meet accessibility standards and are tested for usability for people with disabilities.Support an Instructional Material accessibility remediation intake workflow (e.g., ticketing system and/or shared email queue): review requests, confirm required details, and communicate status updates to TLi staff.Remediate and quality-check a range of materials, including:Word documents and PDFs (including scanned readings)PowerPoints/Google SlidesCI Learn/Canvas pages/contentVideos/captions (as assigned)Use and learn campus/ATI-supported tools and platforms, including UDoIt, Equidox, Adobe Acrobat, CI Docs, Microsoft Office, CI Learn, and others as adopted by CSUCI.Use AI-assisted approaches where appropriate to accelerate remediation, while ensuring the final deliverables meet accessibility expectations through careful human review.Track and document remediation work (e.g., items completed, status, time/effort notes, recurring issues) to support reporting, workflow improvements, and long-term sustainability goals.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: This position requires a friendly and helpful disposition along with professional manners and excellent customer service skills in order to assist and support students, staff, faculty, and campus visitors, drafting technical documents to help people learn processes, searching the web and library resources, building basic websites in WordPress, and consulting with participating faculty about instructional materials. Candidates should adopt a learning mindset and demonstrate comfort with learning new technologies quickly. This position is best for candidates with an interest in (or willingness to learn) accessibility concepts and document remediation techniques.This position also requires familiarity with Mac & Windows computers, working knowledge of collaboration software, media production processes, basic skills in web design, and experience with CI Learn and Google Docs (CI Docs). Training for accessibility remediation will be provided; however, prior knowledge and/or experience with accessibility practices is preferred.Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills, accurate and precise work habits, and the ability to work with diverse populations of faculty, students, staff, and the broader community, as well as an interest in working as part of a team. Candidates must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision and must be trustworthy and reliable. Candidates should have general office work experience (previous campus office experience a plus) and the ability to deal with the general public. Candidates must be current CSUCI students who have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average or above.
