This documentary highlights the extraordinary life of Fred Ross, Sr. and the lasting impact of his organizing work. From the real-life struggles that inspired John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, to the shameful internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, and the founding of the CSO and farmworker unionization efforts in Delano and beyond, Ross’s story is one of resilience and justice. He mentored Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, and thousands of organizers who carried forward the United Farm Workers movement.
